Alumna qualifies for Summer Olympics

Sarah Zelenka, a 2009 Grand Valley crew alumna, will compete in the
2012 Summer Olympics in London this summer.
She qualified to compete after winning a trial race in New
Jersey June 12. She will row in a pair — a two person boat — at the
Olympic Games.

story from 2009, Zelenka said she had dreams of competing at the
Olympic level in London in 2012 and 2016.
As an undergraduate at Grand Valley, Zelenka competed in many
tournaments and competitions, including the FISA World Rowing 2009
Under 23 World Championship in the Czech Republic, where she shared a
boat with athletes from Harvard, University of Michigan and University
of Wisconsin.
