Exhibitions highlight student art

A series of art and design exhibitions by Bachelor of Fine Arts students is underway and continues through the end of the semester. The exhibitions are open to the public with free admission and will be located at the Stuart and Barbara Padnos Art Gallery, located in Calder Arts Center, unless otherwise noted.

Drew Pettinga’s work in sculpture will be showcased through November 9. A reception will be held November 8, from 5-9 p.m.

Samantha Gach (illustration), Lisa Lowe (metals) and Jackie Sulhoff (illustration) will showcase their work November 12-16, with a reception November 15, from 5-7 p.m.

Alli Maldonadao (printmaking) and Stephanie Caroots (painting) exhibit their work November 19-23.

Metalwork by Jessica Scimeca and illustration by Michelle Ankley, Kathy Tran and Jessica Hunter will be featured December 3-7.

Additionally, there will be an exhibition from November 12-15 at the GVSU Art Gallery, located in the Performing Arts Center, featuring sculpture work by Maggie Vance and Anna Fry. They will host a reception November 15 from 5-7 p.m.

The Padnos Gallery is open from 6 a.m. until midnight weekdays, and the GVSU Art Gallery is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays, with extended hours on Thursdays, to 7 p.m.
