Fellowships office announces fall workshop schedule

Grand Valley students and alumni interested in learning more about fellowship opportunities can start to plan their process, as the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships has announced a tentative fall workshop schedule.

The workshops will cover material about more than half a dozen fellowship opportunities, as well as seminars designed to improve personal statement writing, learn about how to fund studying abroad, and open walk-in advising hours.

All dates are tentative, and are subject to change. Specific times and locations will be announced after dates are confirmed.

— Fulbright Scholarship Information Workshop — September 6

— Gilman Scholarship Information Workshops for Winter 2013 Study Abroad — September 5 and 6

— Personal Statement Writing Workshop (for students applying for prestigious awards with Fall 2012 deadlines) — September 7

— Goldwater Scholarship Information Workshop — September 18

— Study Abroad Fair (exhibitor) — October 10

— Funding Study Abroad Workshop, with Padnos International Center — October 17

— Truman Scholarship Information Workshop — October 23

— Boren Scholarship Information Workshop — October 30

— Gilman Scholarship Information Workshops for Spring/Summer/Fall 2013 or academic year 13-14 Study Abroad — November 6 and 7

— Personal Statement Writing Workshop (for students applying for prestigious awards with January/February 2013 deadlines) — November 9

— Fellowships Walk-in Advising Hours — Thursdays during the academic year, 1-4 p.m. 

The Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships serves to provide advising and programming services to Grand Valley students and alumni who show extraordinary potential in disciplines all across campus and aspire to apply for nationally competitive awards.
