Grand Valley State University students will have the opportunity to
leave a lasting mark on the university at a celebratory event for the
Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons on the
Allendale Campus April 12.
Students are invited to sign the final beam that will complete
the steel erection for the Pew Library project from 4-5 p.m. near the
north side of the library construction site. The event will give
students an opportunity to express their gratitude to the donors who
made the project possible. Weather permitting, the beam will be raised
at the event.
Kate Pew Wolters, former chair and current trustee of Grand
Valley’s Board of Trustees, will attend the event for the building
that is named for her mother. President Thomas J. Haas and Student
Senate President Natalie Cleary will also be in attendance. Light
refreshments will be provided and students from Grand Valley’s
marching band will perform.
