The Chicago Consul General of Turkey, Fatih Yildiz, will discuss
Turkey’s foreign policy and principles during a free lecture Thursday,
October 11, 2:30 p.m., in room 2240 Kirkhof Center, Allendale Campus.
Born in 1971 in Ankara, Yildiz graduated from the Department of
International Relations, Middle East Technical University, Ankara in
1994. He joined the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in 1994,
and headed the MFA’s Department of Human Resources. He held a
diplomatic posting in Sarajevo, positions in Turkey’s delegation to
the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and worked
at the Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C., prior to assuming his
position as Consul General of Turkey in Chicago in September, 2010.
The lecture is open to students, faculty, staff and the
community. The event is sponsored by Padnos International Center and
