More than 150 students from 10 Michigan colleges and universities attended a statewide housing conference hosted by students from Grand Valley.

The Residence Housing Association (RHA) at Grand Valley organized the Michigan Organization of Residence Hall Associations 2012 Conference that took place on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus from February 10-12.

Grand Valley students Michael Williams and Nathan Gerken presented at the conference, where Gerken’s presentation about the importance of teamwork, intercultural competency and critical thinking, placed in the Top 10 Programs.

“The event was perfect and everyone had such a great time,” said Williams, who served as Grand Valley’s delegation leader. “The idea is that students will take programs they learned at the conference back to their host institutions.”

Last summer, a group of students from Grand Valley attended and presented at the National Association of College and University Residence Hall (NACURH) annual conference at Western Illinois University.
