Grand Valley Project Day features life-changing projects

A remote-controlled lawn mower designed for a man with quadriplegia and a personal electric vehicle built for a 2-year-old with spina bifida were part of the Padnos College of Engineering and Computing’s Project Day April 19.

More than 150 students from schools in the Grand Rapids area attended the event to see what Grand Valley students are working on and to expose them to how engineering and computing is relevant to everyday life.

Among the nearly 70 projects that were displayed, others included a multi-terrain walker created for a teenager with cerebral palsy and a mouse maze game that challenges mice to search for cheese.
