Grand Valley is participating in the Michigan International
Auto Show in Grand Rapids at DeVos Place from January 26-29. The
show encompasses hybrid and electric vehicles, alternative energies,
solar energy and charging stations.
“Our participation in the Grand Rapids Auto Show is a golden
opportunity for us to raise awareness in the community about the
energy initiatives that are taking place at Grand Valley,” said Joe
Iannelli, director of Grand Valley’s School of Engineering.
Grand Valley recently installed electric vehicle charging
stations on the Allendale and Grand Rapids campuses, and faculty
and staff members are developing courses in energy storage materials
and battery systems for electric/hybrid vehicles. Grand Valley
continues to employ sustainable practices and research alternative
energies, including the Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy
Center’s offshore wind
assessment study.
Grand Valley’s exhibit is located
in booth 80, near the southwest side of the auto show.
