Johnson Center director, dean among speakers at volunteer week celebration

James Edwards, director of the Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University, along with Dean George Grant, of Grand Valley's College of Community and Public Service, will speak at the National Volunteer Week Celebration on Monday, April 16. 

Edwards and Grant will join Maureen Noe, with Heart of West Michigan United Way; and Diana Sieger, with the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, as speakers.

The keynote speaker of the National Volunteer Week Celebration is Randal Charlton, who is the executive-in-residence for BOOM! The New Economy, which is a venture that offers training, one-on-one mentoring, and internships to people over 50 who are exploring new opportunities in their second half of life.

The event will be held on April 16, from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Loosemore Auditorium on Grand Valley’s Pew Grand Rapids Campus.

Edwards will speak at 11:45 a.m. and Grant will speak at 1 p.m.
