Grand Valley juniors with strong academic backgrounds (typically 3.6 GPA or higher) and exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in public service can learn more about a nationally competitive scholarship opportunity on October 23.
Information about the Truman Scholarship will be presented by the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships at the session on Tuesday, October 23 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Kirkhof Center room 2259.
The prestigious award is given based upon a competitive application process. The information session will provide students with details on how to prepare an application.
The mission of the Truman Scholarship Foundation is to find and recognize college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education or elsewhere in the public service, and to provide them with financial support for graduate study, leadership training, and fellowship with other students who are committed to making a difference through public service.
Advanced registration for the event is appreciated. To register for the event or for more information, contact [email protected] or (616) 331-3219.
