Kirkhof College of Nursing to host interfaith event

The Kirkhof College of Nursing will host a panel discussion, "Engaging Faith Traditions in Health Care," as part of 2012: Year of Interfaith Understanding events.
The event is set for Monday, March 12, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in
the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences. It is free and open to the
public. Co-sponsors are Grand Valley’s College of Health Professions,
Mercy Health Saint Mary’s, Metro Health and Spectrum Health.
A variety of topics will be discussed including spirituality and
end-of-life care, how different faiths interact in health care, and
connecting with community resources. Cynthia McCurren, dean of KCON,
will serve as moderator.
Continuing education credits for nursing will be offered. Light
refreshments will be available. RSVP by sending an email to Kellie

The Year of Interfaith Understanding is a community-wide
celebration of religious diversity that brings hundreds of events to
the area with support from Grand Valley’s Kaufman Interfaith
Institute, Grand Rapids Mayor’s office, Grand Rapids Press, WGVU
Public Media and Grand Rapids Community Foundation and area campuses,
congregations and community organizations.
