Knapp accepted as panelist at international forum

Allison Lugo Knapp, associate director of the Grantmaking School at Grand Valley’s Johnson Center for Philanthropy, has been accepted as a panelist for the 2012 Women’s Forum in Bogota, Colombia.

The forum is hosted by the Women’s Foundation for Colombia, and will take place on March 24, 2012. 

Lugo Knapp will present a two-hour workshop on the roles of the nonprofit and philanthropic sector in the U.S., career opportunities in the sector and academic programs and resources that currently exist for nonprofit management and philanthropy. Last year more than 500 women attended the event.

The Grantmaking School is part of Grand Valley’s Johnson Center for Philanthropy, which was established in 1992 with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. 

The Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy promotes effective philanthropy, community improvement, and excellence in nonprofit leadership through teaching, research, and service. The Johnson Center is recognized for its applied research and professional development benefiting practitioners and nonprofits through its Community Research Institute, The Foundation Review, The Grantmaking School, and Nonprofit Services.
