Area seventh and eighth grade female students learned about the
growing fields of information systems and computing at a five-day camp
at Grand Valley.
Campers learned how to build electronic robots and create 3-D
movies, which were showcased at the Open House on the last day of the
camp on Friday, August 10.
“Get with the Program” is part of a continuum of
technology-based opportunities for female students interested in
engineering and computing careers. The camp took place August 6-10 on
the Allendale Campus and included a field trip to area companies that
specialize in computing and robotics.
The camp was hosted by the School of Computing and Information
Systems at Grand Valley and organized by professors Teresa Peterman
and Ana Posada.
