Running Club hosts third annual Turkey Trot

The Grand Valley Running Club will host its third annual Turkey Trot 5k race and walk November 17. The event will raise money and provide food for the Kids’ Food Basket of Grand Rapids, an organization that serves thousands of meals to children every day.

The race will start at 10 a.m. on the Allendale Campus; registration begins at 8 a.m. in the Kirkhof Center. Online registration is closed, but participants can register on the day of the race for $25 or November 16 at the Kirkhof Center from 6:30-8 p.m. for $20.

Last year, the Running Club raised about $1,200 for the The Kids’ Food Basket and the group hopes to raise more this year. They are asking participants to bring boxes of fruit snacks or granola bars for the organization.
