Students, faculty and staff members are invited to help with
planting at the Sustainable
Agriculture Project on Friday, May 25.
Organized by the student group Farm Club, the planting party
will take place from noon-6 p.m, and anyone can attend, no gardening
experience is required. The Sustainable Agriculture Project is located
on Luce Street in Allendale between 42nd and 48th avenues.
The Grand Valley Sustainable Agriculture Project is a
collaboration between students, faculty and staff members to
experience sustainable agriculture. The project has been operating
since 2008 and has expanded over the past few years. The project
includes plants that grow outdoors and inside of a hoop house, which
is an unheated structure that measures 30 feet by 72 feet and is
covered in two layers of plastic to help extend the growing season.
