Governor Rick Snyder has released a state budget that would tie funding for higher education to performance and accountability.

The plan ties funding for universities to graduation rates, and number of degrees awarded in key fields, among other factors.

Grand Valley State University has been tracking accountability and performance metrics for several years, and maintains a site dedicated to accountability.

The university also maintains annual 'dashboard' data to ensure best practices are being used academically and operationally.

President Thomas J. Haas reviewed the most recent annual dashboard data with the university Board of Trustees during the February 10 meeting on the Allendale campus.
