Grand Valley’s Women’s Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary
this year with two performances of the play, “That Takes Ovaries!:
Bold Women, Brazen Acts.”
Similar to “Vagina Monologues” performed in previous years,
Grand Valley students in “That Takes Ovaries!” will use theater to
tell real-life stories of women and girls who have performed
courageous actions. The play is based on the book, That Takes
Ovaries!: Bold Females and Their Brazen Acts, and is about 64
women and their short stories of strength and audacity. Grand Valley’s
production of the play will use short stories from the book and
stories written by women from the West Michigan community.
