Notable West Michigan entrepreneur and personality Rick DeVos will be the final speaker to take the stage as part of the Wheelhouse Talks, a series of leadership lectures presented by Grand Valley State University’s Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies.

DeVos is an inventive leader, and already has an impressive array of projects to back up the hype that tends to come with his level of local celebrity.

The TED-type leader with a passion for visionary, progressive, and cultural projects has helped spark an intellectual, cultural, and economic rebirth in West Michigan.

His projects include Pomegranate Studios, 5x5 night, Momentum, TheCommon.org, Spout.com, Boxed Water Is Better Water, and, most famously, ArtPrize, the nationally-recognized weeks-long art festival that’s enters another year this fall.

“West Michigan is emerging as a place where a young, innovative, entrepreneurial creative class can thrive, and Rick DeVos is leading the way with all of his exciting initiatives,” said Gleaves Whitney, director of the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies. “Our leadership fellows who will soon enter the creative class will gain great insights into how to bring their ideas to reality.”
