Women's Center hosts sweet fundraiser

All-you-can-eat chocolate desserts and a silent auction will highlight the Grand Valley State University Women’s Center annual fundraiser, “Indulge in a Cause.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit Women’s Center programs and their endowment fund. The center offers scholarships to non-traditional students who may not otherwise qualify for financial aid.

Sweet desserts will be provided by local companies including Cabot Cheese, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and San Chez Bistro. Silent auction items include a spa package, Apple iPad and a Grand Rapids night-on-the-town package.

“As the Women’s Center celebrates its 10th anniversary, we are excited about our plans to sustain our gender justice and leadership education work,” said Marlene Kowalski-Braun, assistant vice provost of Student Affairs.  “Our annual fundraiser helps to make our vision a reality.”

The event is co-sponsored by Founders Bank & Trust and the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation.
