Workshop to be held for competitive language scholarship

Students who are interested in learning more about a competitive scholarship that could help them learn a foreign language of critical need to U.S. national security interests while studying abroad are encouraged to attend an information seminar hosted by the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships on Tuesday, October 30.

The seminar will be held in Lake Ontario Hall, room 130 at 5:30 p.m., and will help students learn about the Boren Scholarships and how to prepare for the competitive application process. The awards provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students.

The campus application deadline for the Boren Scholarships is January 25, 2013.

Details about the scholarship are available at www.borenawards.org/boren_scholarship/basics.html

Students who are unable to attend the information session should call the Meijer Honors College at (616) 331-3219 to schedule an appointment with Amanda Cuevas, director of the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships or stop by 120 Niemeyer Hall on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. for walk-in advising hours.
