Grand Valley State University’s W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Woodrow Wilson Michigan Teaching Fellowship Program Office and the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships are hosting a workshop for students interested in applying for the W.K. Kellogg Woodrow Wilson Michigan Teaching Fellowship.
The session will be held on Thursday, October 11, from 5-6 p.m. in Kirkhof Center, room 2264. The workshop will focus on the award and application process.
Graduating seniors, graduates, and professionals changing careers who have majored in or have a strong professional background in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields who have interest in teaching math or science in high-need high schools are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants should have attained or expect to attain a bachelor’s degree by June 30, 2013.
The fellowship offers rigorous preparation, extensive clinical immersion in secondary classrooms, and ongoing mentoring. Each Fellow will receive a Fellowship in exchange for a three-year commitment to teach in a high-need secondary school. Grand Valley has partnered with Grand Rapids Public Schools, Godfrey-Lee Public Schools, Kentwood Public Schools and Muskegon Public Schools.
