The Women’s Center is seeking faculty and staff members to participate in three mentorship programs, designed to support students and connect them to campus and the community.
- The Black Male Scholars program creates an environment where male students can excel as leaders and achieve academic excellence.
- The Hermanos program fosters an environment where Latino men can learn, develop and grow into young leaders.
- The Niara program helps female students of color connect with professional women of color in order to build community and excel in college.
Mentors will be required to attend one group meeting and one
in-person meeting each month, and communicate with their mentee two
times each month. Social activities and service learning opportunities
will be arranged throughout the year.
The programs will kick off at a reception for students and
mentors September 23, 3:30-5 p.m. in room 2204 of the Kirkhof Center.
Faculty and staff members who are interested in being a mentor can
