Nearly 150 graduating students gathered at the Eberhard Center with
President Thomas J. Haas April 16 to celebrate their upcoming
graduation.
The first annual “Toast with T. Haas” brought together
graduating undergraduate and graduate students to celebrate their
journey taken as a Laker for a Lifetime. Students received a glass of
champagne in a limited edition Laker for a Lifetime flute as a gift.
“This event was planned to escort graduating students into
alumni status and into a new relationship with Grand Valley,” said
Chris Barbee, director of Alumni Relations. “I think students enjoyed
hearing from President Haas on a more personal level and being
recognized for their accomplishments.”
Grand Valley will celebrate graduating students at two commencement
ceremonies on April 27 at Van Andel Arena.
