Grand Valley seeks student Eco Reps
The Sustainable Community Development Initiative is seeking
students in the living centers to participate in the campus Eco Rep
program.
Eco Reps are student representatives who promote sustainable
initiatives, such as composting, recycling, and promoting and
participating in Recyclemania! Volunteers will work with community
councils or resident assistants in the living centers to educate
students about the importance of sustainable practices and habits.
Eco Reps will also facilitate the Pizza Box Project, an
initiative to take pizza boxes from living centers out of the waste
stream and into a compost bin. During the start of the project during
the 2012-2013 academic year, more than 27,500 pizza boxes were
composted.
Students interested in signing up to be an Eco Rep can visit the
table at Campus Life Night on September 3, from 7-9 p.m. in the
Fieldhouse.
