GVSU, Collegiate Network to help nonprofits connect with student volunteers

Grand Valley State University will play host to the Fourth Annual Collegiate Network Summer Summit on July 23, where nonprofit organizations can learn how to effectively engage with college students who are looking for meaningful volunteer and service learning experiences.

The summit will feature presentations and networking sessions that will provide opportunities for partnerships between nonprofit and higher education leaders.

Breakout sessions will touch on topics including Engaging with Millennials, Foundations of Effective Service Projects, and more. Sessions specifically tailored for executive directors will be available and presented by staff from Grand Valley’s Johnson Center for Philanthropy and College of Community and Public Service.

Registration is open now, and can be found at summersummit.eventbrite.com, or events.johnsoncenter.org. Cost is $10 and includes lunch. The deadline to register is July 19.

Faculty and staff from area colleges and universities are encouraged to attend, and GVSU faculty and staff may qualify for free registration by contacting Justine Easter at [email protected].

The Collegiate Network is a group of college and university service directors in the greater Grand Rapids area, including representatives from Grand Valley State University, Davenport University, Aquinas College, and Grand Rapids Community College.
