GVSU partners with community groups to fight hunger
Grand Valley is participating in Hunger Action Week 2013 by hosting
an award-winning documentary and panel discussion featuring
representatives from local anti-hunger agencies September 10.
Grand Valley’s Women’s Center is partnering with local community
groups in Kent County to raise awareness during the week, which runs
September 8-14.

“A Place at the Table” is a critically acclaimed documentary that
gives an overview of the plight of hunger in the U.S. and offers
solutions for individuals who want to act. A panel discussion will
follow, featuring representatives from God’s Kitchen, ACCESS of West
Michigan and Kids Food Basket. Brittany Dernberger, assistant director
of the Women’s Center, will discuss Grand Valley’s Student Food
Pantry, a resource for students who have trouble affording food.
