Head athletic trainer earns regional honor
Laker head athletic trainer Mark Stoessner received regional honors
for his dedication to student athletes and the profession.
The Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association presented
Stoessner with the Dedicated Service Award.
In addition to overseeing care for 550 student-athletes at Grand
Valley, Stoessner keeps up with legislative policies that affect
athletic trainers as the president of the Michigan Athletic Trainers’ Society.
Stoessner was named head athletic trainer at Grand Valley in
2007. He worked in similar positions at Northern Michigan University
and University of Michigan.
The GLATA Dedicated Service Award is intended to recognize those
members who have demonstrated a superior level of excellence in
assisting the executive committee in furthering the goals and vision
of the association’s leadership.
