Holiday boutique features fair trade items

Items purchased at the Women’s Center’s Fair Trade Holiday Boutique will benefit Global Gifts, a Grand Rapids-based nonprofit organization that works with fair trade groups.

The boutique will take place from November 18-21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., in the lobby of the Kirkhof Center.

Ten percent of all proceeds from the sale will be donated to Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women (GROW), a local non-profit organization that helps women and men start new businesses.

Fair trade guarantees the human rights of those involved at all levels of global trade, from the producer to the consumer.
