The Kutsche Office of Local History will host its fourth annual
Local History Roundtable, focusing this year on Native Americans in
West Michigan.
The Roundtable, “Natives, Settlers, Founders: Our Shared Story
of Community Growth,” is set for Thursday, April 18, from 8 a.m.-3:30
p.m. at the Grand Haven Community Center, 421 Columbus St. Cost to
attend is $20 (free for students) and includes breakfast and lunch.

Scheduled speakers are Marjie Viveen, a local historian who has
led serveral preservation projects; Paul Trapp, retired history
teacher from Grand Haven; and Eric Eric Hemenway, director of the
Repatriation, Archvies and Records department for the Little Traverse
Bay Bands of Odawa Indians.
Roundtable discussion topics will include grant writing,
genealogy, research and publishing.
The Kutsche Office of Local History is dedicated to promoting
and supporting research on underrepresented or marginalized groups in
Western Michigan.
