The image of Asians in mainstream media, including the
entertainment industry, will be discussed at the next Diversity Brown
Bag Series event February 12.
Christine Vo, vice president of the Multicultural Greek Council,
will give a presentation from noon-1 p.m. in room 2263 of the Kirkhof
Center. The event is approved for LIB 100 and LIB 201 classes.
Vo, also the planning chair of Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, will
discuss media portrayals of eastern and southeastern Asian
representation and ways to resolve the restrictive image.
The event is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs
and is in conjunction with Grand Valley’s Asian Pacific American
Heritage Celebration. For more information, visit www.gvsu.edu/oma.
