Selgo earns national honor

Tim Selgo, director of athletics, was named the Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year.

The award is presented by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, which includes seven collegiate divisions from NCAA Division I to junior and community colleges.

Selgo said he was honored to be chosen by his peers. He said: “This award is a reflection of the great work done by the entire GVSU athletic department administrative and support staff. I accept the award on behalf of them.”

The Lakers finished second in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings, marking the 12th straight year that Grand Valley has finished first or second place in the national competition that awards points based on team finishes.
