Shakespeare Summer Camp returns to Grand Valley
Grand Valley Shakespeare Festival will once again offer two
sessions of “Will Power,” its summer education program for children.
The day camp will focus on developing creativity through the
process of drama, using Shakespeare’s works to teach theatre concepts
and storytelling, while providing a fun environment with other young
people. All sessions will be held at Grand Valley’s Performing Arts
Center, Allendale Campus.
Session 1, Double Trouble in “A
Comedy of Errors,” runs July 8-12, while Session 2, Shipwrecked on a
Magic Island! in “The Tempest,” runs July 15-19. Campers are
registered by age group, with Buckingham Groups meeting from 9
a.m.-noon, for students entering grades 1-3, and Westminster Groups at
1-4 p.m. for students entering grades 4-6.
Registration is $100 per camper, with discounts for multiple
children or attendance at both sessions. Price includes class fees,
materials and a t-shirt. Scholarship opportunities are available. For
more information and registration, visit www.gvsu.edu/shakes, or email [email protected].
