Women's rowing takes first place at largest collegiate regatta
The Grand Valley women’s rowing teams won two gold medals and
captured the Women’s Points Trophy at the 75th Aberdeen Dad Vail
Regatta in Philadelphia May 10-11.
The regatta is the largest collegiate regatta in North America
with more than 125 participating colleges and universities from the
U.S. and Canada.
The varsity women’s team took first place in Division I Varsity
Eight and Women’s Novice Eight. The second varsity women’s team
finished fourth in Division II Varsity Eight.
The varsity men’s team finished fourth in Division I Varsity
Heavyweight Eight and the second varsity men’s team placed sixth in
Division II Heavyweight Eight. The men’s teams finished with their
highest score ever and placed second for the Overall Team Points Trophy.
Grand Valley Rowing will compete at the American Collegiate
Rowing Association National Championship Regatta in Atlanta at the end
of May, and at the Royal Henley and Henley Women’s Regattas at
Henley-on-Thames, England at the end of June.
