School of Communications faculty members Len O’Kelly and Keith Oppenheim organized a trip to Lansing for students to attend the Michigan Student Broadcast Awards banquet, March 12 in Lansing. They came back with seven awards, including four for first place.

The event also provided an opportunity for students to attend educational breakout sessions and network with representatives from media employers from across the state. The projects submitted included some created by students for broadcasting classes, for student media outlets GVTV and The Whale Radio WCKS, and several projects from the Promotions Office Video Team, including the "Be More: Sustainable" project in partnership with the University Libraries.
