Comics in the Classroom offers resources for educators

Chinese American author Gene Luen Yang will present Comics in the Classroom, Friday, April 11, from 11 a.m.- noon in the Grand River Room, Kirkhof Center, Allendale Campus. His talk includes information and resources on how educators can use comics to promote literacy, engage their classes, and get students to think about media. A book signing and reception will follow.

Yang’s critically acclaimed work blends Chinese mythology, Christian iconography and American popular culture. His work includes Boxers and Saints, and American Born Chinese, which won the 2007 Michael L. Printz Award and the 2007 Eisner Award.
