Two campus departments have teamed to participate in National
Distance Learning Week, which runs through November 14.
More than 270 courses are offered at Grand Valley this semester
in either an online or hybrid form. Nationally, more than 7.1 million
students are learning online with 33 percent of college students
taking at least one course delivered online.
Information Technology and the Pew Faculty Teaching and Learning
Center will sponsor events this week. On Friday, November 14, faculty
members who teach online and hybrid courses will be celebrated with a breakfast.
More than 230 faculty members have been trained to teach online
through the Foundations seminar, focusing on building high quality
online learning experiences that contribute to student success.
The U.S. Distance Learning Association will host more than 30
