The flu season is in full swing, and campus community members are
reminded that flu vaccines are still available at the GVSU Family
Health Center.
Ann Sheehan, assistant dean for practice at Kirkhof College of
Nursing, said the center has seen an increase in the number of
patients with flu symptoms.
“Getting a flu vaccine is an easy way to protect yourself from
missing several days of work or school,” Sheehan said.
Grand Valley covers the cost of the flu vaccine for all faculty
and staff members and their family members. Students are able to
charge the cost of the vaccine to their individual university
accounts. The cost for community members is $25 for people ages 6
months-64, and $35 for people 65 and older.
People interested in receiving a vaccine can drop by the center,
72 Sheldon Blvd. SE in Grand Rapids, or call (616) 988-8774 for an appointment.
