Governor establishes state Office for New Americans

Gov. Rick Snyder today officially signed into law the Michigan Office for New Americans during an event in Grand Rapids that was attended by several international students from Grand Valley.

The office will coordinate all state efforts related to immigration and recruitment of international students.

Snyder, on January 31, named Bing Goei the office’s director. Goei said more graduates are needed to fill critical STEM jobs. Read more in this MLive article, here.
