The Grand Valley community is mourning the death of Peter Wege,
environmental leader, community philanthropist and generous supporter
of Grand Valley State University. Wege, retired Steelcase chairman,
died July 7 at age 94.
Wege was a dedicated supporter of education and the environment.
He made significant contributions to Grand Valley’s Robert B. Annis
Water Resources Institute in Muskegon, the Muskegon River Sustainable
Project, and the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies.
