Grand Valley hosts regional sustainability meeting

Grand Valley hosted local leaders at the West Michigan Community Sustainability Partnership (CSP) meeting January 9 in Allendale.

Grand Valley President Thomas J. Haas, who is part of CSP’s leadership team, provided opening remarks during the group’s first meeting of the new year in the Alumni House.

“We’re all committed to the triple bottom line of sustainability and making a positive impact in our community for future generations,” said Haas. “We take sustainability seriously at Grand Valley and we’re proud to be actively involved in this community partnership.”

The partnership, founded in 2005, has grown from five partners to more than 200 partners in the West Michigan area. Grand Valley was a founding partner. CSP aims to transform the greater Grand Rapids region through the development of sustainable neighborhoods and communities.
