Haas on role in Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup

Grand Valley President Thomas J. Haas reflected on his cleanup efforts in the Exxon Valdez oil spill on a recent Michigan Public Radio “Stateside” segment.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the oil spill. Haas, a retired captain in the U.S. Coast Guard and hazmat cleanup expert, was called to help with the cleanup in 1989.
