Johnson Center website gets new look, functionality

The Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley is getting a new look online. The center’s website, JohnsonCenter.org, was recently redesigned and has a new appearance and increased functionality. 

Navigation is broken down into easy-to-use categories that direct users to services, events and trainings, resources and publications, and chairs and fellowships. 

Online tools, including the VoiceGR data analysis tool, are prominently displayed. Blogs, social media, and eNewsletter sign ups are easy to access, helping users get the most of their time on the new site. 

The new site provides new ways of discovering how the Johnson Center provides guidance for doing good, and reinforces the belief that learning curves shouldn’t get in the way of impact. The Johnson Center guides nonprofits, professionals, and donors to strengthen their work and navigate the field. The center’s new site will help philanthropists with original research, tools, trainings, and more. The site will support:

• Research, strategy, and evaluation services for foundations

• Capacity building, training, and tools for nonprofits

• Database design and community research

• Events, trainings, and custom courses for professionals throughout the field

• Resources and publications designed to make learning easier and more effective

In the next few months, a redesigned LearnPhilanthropy page will guide newcomers to the field and strengthen learning within grantmaking organizations. The Johnson Center will also launch Our State of Generosity, an online platform that captures the stories of Michigan’s philanthropic history and provides a blueprint for philanthropy in other states.
