Orientation held for Executive MBA students
Orientation was held August 5 at the L. William Seidman Center for
participants in the first cohort in the Health Care Executive MBA
program at Grand Valley. Participants in the 22-month program are
clinical and administrative employees within Spectrum Health.
Grand Valley and Spectrum Health worked together to create the
program designed specifically for Spectrum Health leaders.
President Thomas J. Haas told participants the program is a
reflection of Grand Valley’s commitment to flexibility and
responsiveness to community needs and praised the longtime
relationship between the university and Spectrum Health. “Grand Valley
was built on 50 years of partnerships and relationships,” said Haas.
“The creation of this program is a milestone in my administration and
we are honored to provide relevant programming that will help you be
successful now and for years to come.”
Richard C. Breon, president and CEO of Spectrum Health, said the
new program will help better prepare its leaders as it plans for a
future built around community, value, quality and sustainability. “We
are excited about this collaboration with Grand Valley that will
provide a broader range of knowledge for our employees,” said Breon.
“The program is specifically designed for our integrated health system
to push our people forward in a changing environment and changing industry.”
The Executive MBA curriculum applies core MBA principles with
relevant health care challenges that integrated health systems face.
Classes will be conducted in a multifaceted approach with a
combination of classroom, virtual and applied learning sessions.
Classes begin August 22.
