The faculty and staff members at the GVSU Family Health Center were recognized for exceptional patient care by Priority Health on July 17.

The Priority Health Quality Award recognizes practices that are among the top primary care practice groups within the provider network. It was the first time the health center received this award.

Cynthia McCurren, dean of the Kirkhof College of Nursing, said the health center fits an important part of the college’s strategic vision. “It’s an excellent example of our commitment to excellence in practice and community engagement, and a site for clinical instruction for nursing and other disciplines,” McCurren said.

Ann Sheehan, assistant dean for practice, said the criteria for earning a Quality Award includes achieving high scores for offering preventative care, control of chronic diseases and patient satisfaction.

The GVSU Family Health Center is at 72 Sheldon Blvd. SE in Grand Rapids. More information about its hours and services are online, click here.
