Speaker will discuss Latino cultural influence

Community organizer, journalist and political activist, Rosa Clemente will give a Hispanic Heritage Month presentation about Latino influence on current and future American life.  

Clemente’s presentation, “Presente! Latinos y Latinas in the 21st Century,” will take place on Thursday, October 2, from 6–7:30 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center, Grand River Room.

Clemente has been a community organizer and activist for more than 15 years, and also a featured keynote speaker, panelist and political commentator. She consults on issues such as hip-hop activism, voter engagement among youth, third-party politics, immigrants’ rights and universal health care.

The free event is in conjunction with the Office of Multicultural Affairs’ Professionals of Color Lecture Series. It is approved for LIB 100 and 201 classes.
