About 100 volunteers from the campus community are still needed to help when Grand Valley hosts the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships in mid-May.

Head coach Jerry Baltes said more than 750 student athletes from around the country will participate in the championships, set for May 22-24 at the Grand Valley track and field stadium. Co-host for the championships is the West Michigan Sports Commission.

Volunteers are needed beginning May 18. Possible opportunities include equipment assembly, facilities set-up, safety clerk for throws area, pit supervisor, ushers, shuttle drivers for officials, assisting coaches and other roles.

People who are interested can visit www.grchampionshipcity.com to sign up to volunteer. The website includes general information about the championships.

Grand Valley will also host the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf National Championships at the Meadows May 19-23. People interested in volunteering for that event can contact Dave Tanis at [email protected].
