Workshop to focus on avoiding discussion pitfalls

Grand Valley's Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies is hosting a workshop to help participants learn how to avoid four negative behaviors that can ruin a relationship.

The latest installment of the center’s new series of Common Ground workshops will discuss “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: How to Avoid Ruining Relationships” on Wednesday, April 23, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Meijer Regency Room on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus.

Director Gleaves Whitney and Brenna Cleary will present time-honored techniques to help people avoid common pitfalls when they are negotiating or discussing issues they disagree about, and how to have more constructive conversations.

Appetizers will be served, and an RSVP can be provided at hauensteincenter.org. The program is limited to the first 20 participants, and is presented courtesy of the Dyer-Ives Foundation.

The program is LIB 100/201 approved.
