An educational conference geared toward empowering women
entrepreneurs will be held March 13 at Grand Valley State University,
sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
“Develop Your Entrepreneurial Mindset — Empowering Women
Entrepreneurs,” will feature keynote speaker Rebecca White, director
of the Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Tampa.
White, a professor and distinguished chair of entrepreneurship,
will help attendees learn about their own entrepreneurial profile and
the latest research that defines the entrepreneurial mindset.
A panel discussion, including entrepreneurs from diverse
backgrounds, will include White; Keith Boswell, founder of Perceptint;
Kevin White, visual designer at Visual hero; Deborah Tacoma, CEO of
Freedom Creators; and Kelly Hassberger, owner of Grand Rapids Natural Health.
Breakout sessions will be held on topics such as: crowd funding
through social media, artists as entrepreneurs, successful
entrepreneurial women and role models, and creative funding sources.
“The entrepreneurial journey can be difficult to navigate on
your own,” said Shorouq Almallah, associate director of the Center for
Entrepreneurship and Innovation. “Attendees will be able to surround
themselves with like-minded people and a great network of resources
that will help them navigate the entrepreneurial journey, discover
their strengths and develop their entrepreneurial mindset.”
