Grand Valley ranked fifth for women's athletics

Laker fans know it, and now so does the rest of the country.
Niche ranked Grand Valley fifth in the country on its Best Colleges for Female Athletes. Grand Valley was the first NCAA Division II institution listed, following the University of Connecticut, University of California-Los Angeles, University of Notre Dame and University of Arizona.
Criteria was based on the percentage of women athletes participating in varsity sports, NCAA championship appearances and student opinions.
