GVSU celebrating Earth Science Week with lecture series
In conjunction with the internationally recognized Earth Science Week, Grand Valley’s Geology Department is sponsoring a series of lectures October 12-16.
Peter Riemersma, associate professor of geology and lecture series coordinator, said the series not only exposes students to the field of geology, but also showcases possible career options.
Since 1998, the American Geosciences Institute has celebrated Earth Science Week to help the public gain a better understanding and appreciation for the Earth sciences and the Earth itself. This year’s global Earth Science Week will celebrate the theme “Visualizing Earth Systems."
